The Cabot Science Library collections are changing in response to our patrons needs. In addition to print and digital collections, we now have a number of items classified as technology available to borrow from the Access Services Desk on the lower level. Our most popular items include PC and Mac laptop loaners (available for either 3 hour or 24 hour loan periods), phone chargers and cameras. In addition, we have purchased a number of devices to encourage patrons to explore new technology; these include an Alienware 15 R3 VR-ready laptop available to borrow together with an Oculus Rift Developer Kit DK2 or Leap MotionController.
As you work on your multimedia projects for class or fun, consider borrowing a camera from Cabot either still or video. Recent purchases include a 360 camera by Samsung that records either video or still images. All of the technology loan items are listed in the HOLLIS catalog under their name. For your convenience we have also added a page to the Harvard Library website called Technology Loan where the collection may be viewed together.
The HL portal page also includes links to equipment available for the use of members of the Harvard community (see circulation stipulations on each page) including Lamont Library, Wolbach Library and Instructional Media Services in the Science Center.
